Parking
SUMMER
Our driveway comfortably fits up to 3 vehicles. In the event that your vehicles exceed this capacity, please use the designated parking area on Lardin Street. We kindly request that you avoid parking on High Street to maintain clear access for our neighbors.
WINTER
During winter, our driveway accommodates 2 vehicles, and possibly a third, depending on snow accumulation. We understand that Tahoe's winter can be unpredictable, so if recent storms limit the driveway space, we ask that you arrange for off-site parking for any additional vehicles. Please note that parking on High Street or Lardin Street is not advisable in winter due to snowplow operations.
The House Rules
A few quick guidelines to keep everyone happy. Please read these before settling in:
- Pets: Not permitted on the property.
- Occupancy Limit: Maximum of 5 guests unless prior arrangement has been made.
- Smoking: Prohibited inside the house. Outdoor smoking must be done responsibly.
- Fire Pit: Usage is not allowed.
- Parties/Events: Strictly prohibited.
- Quiet Hours: 10 PM to 8 AM daily.

Welcome back to the A-Frame
Glad you're here. Whether this is your first stay or your fifth, we want to make sure you can always come back.
We're Chris and Kosha, the couple behind the A-Frame. Booking with us directly means no third-party service fees, flexible arrangements we can't offer through the booking platforms, and first access to open weekends before they hit the listing sites.
Jump on our list and we'll keep you in the loop on openings, returning-guest rates, and the occasional last-minute gem when a weekend frees up.
Smart Lock
We have customized the smart lock on the front door for your convenience, setting it to the last four digits of the phone number you provided during booking. To help you get acquainted with the lock, we've provided a brief instructional video.
To unlock the door, simply tap the 'Home' icon located at the bottom left of the keypad, and then enter your 4-digit code. When leaving the cabin, just press the 'Lock' icon to secure the door.
WiFi
WiFi is available throughout the cabin. Tap below to view the network name and password.
Cell Phone Signal
In the mountainous terrain, cell phone signal strength can sometimes be unreliable. To stay connected, we recommend using our guest WiFi network. Once connected, enable the 'WiFi Calling' feature on your phone for improved call quality.
For iPhone users:
- Go to 'Settings'
- Select 'Phone'
- Tap 'WiFi Calling'
- Turn on 'WiFi Calling on This iPhone'
Automation
We've equipped each room with Google Hubs to add convenience and a touch of modern to your stay. These devices are here to simplify your daily tasks and enhance your experience. Feel free to use them to:
- Control the lighting with simple voice commands
- Set morning alarms or timers
- Play your favorite music on Spotify or Pandora
Wood Burning Stove
We provide kindling and seasoned firewood for a delightful indoor fire experience. For easy instructions on using the wood-burning stove, do watch our short video. If you have any questions, we're here to assist. Please remember to dispose of ashes in the metal bucket beside the wood stack outdoors before departing. Note: Outdoor fires are not permitted.
Grilling
We offer a propane-powered Weber grill for all you grill masters. Please ensure to move it away from the A-Frame while in use for safety. While we strive to keep the propane tank filled, if you find it empty, you can refill it at Swaggers, the local hardware store. We will happily reimburse you for this expense.
When you're finished:
- Give the grates a quick brush-down while they're still warm. It makes the next guest's cookout much better.
- Turn off the propane tank at the valve.
- Once the grill has fully cooled, please put the cover back on to protect it from the elements.
Water Gear & Beach Wagon
We're excited to share our gear with you! For your enjoyment, we provide:
- 2 adult kayaks and 2 kids kayaks
- 2 stand-up paddle boards
- A beach wagon stocked with life vests and beach chairs to haul everything down to the water
A small ask:
When you're done for the day, please return everything to where you found it: kayaks and paddle boards stacked neatly, life vests hung or folded back into the wagon, and beach chairs collapsed and stowed. Keeping the gear organized and protected from the elements helps us keep providing it free of charge for every guest. Thanks for treating it like your own!
Already thinking about next time?
Our returning guests have a way of claiming the same weekends year after year, and we love that. If there's a stretch you're eyeing (a ski week, a summer holiday, that perfect fall weekend), let us know now and we'll text you the moment it opens up.
- No third-party service fees (typically 14–16% on booking platforms)
- Flexible check-in and checkout when we can swing it
- Returning-guest perks we save for our list
Garbage Collection
- Collection Day: Our trash is collected every Thursday.
- Bear Box Usage: Please use the bear box located in our driveway for all trash disposal. Kindly avoid using our neighbor's bear box.
- Trash Bagging: Ensure all trash is securely bagged before placing it in the garbage can. Loose items should not be thrown in.
- Recycling: The single bear box on the left with the blue garbage can is designated for recycling.
Snow Plow Information
Our snow plow service typically begins plowing High Street and our driveway around 6 a.m. if there is more than six inches of accumulation. They may make a second pass around 9 a.m. If you are up and hear the plow coming please move your car to allow for proper clearing.
Neighborhood Beach
Exit through the front door and turn left onto Lardin Street. Walk downhill to the stop sign. Directly across the main road, you'll see a bear box and find a pathway nestled between two houses. This path leads you down to the water.
Quiet Hours
Please observe quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM, in compliance with local regulations and to respect our neighbors. Sound carries easily in our tranquil community, so we ask you to lower voices and reduce noise, especially outdoors, during these hours. Moving social activities indoors at night helps maintain neighborhood peace. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our community harmonious.
Be Bear Aware
Located in Tahoe National Forest, our A-Frame shares its space with local wildlife, including bears. To coexist safely:
- Vehicle Safety: Keep food, candy, and wrappers out of your car. Bears can open doors to scavenge.
- Cooler Caution: Store coolers and food inside; bears see them as food sources.
- Bear Box: Always make sure the bear box latch is fully closed after disposing of trash.
- No Food Outside Overnight: Don't leave snacks, dog food, or even sealed grocery bags on the deck or in the yard.
- If You See a Bear: Stay calm, keep your distance, and never approach or feed it. Make noise from a safe distance to encourage it to move along.
Our Favorite Spots
We've put together an online guidebook with our personal favorites: where to grab breakfast, the best lakeside coffee, hidden hikes, dinner spots worth the drive, and the local gems most tourists miss.
It's updated regularly as we find new favorites.
Heading Home
Checkout is at 11:00 AM. Before you lock up, a few quick things to leave the place ready for our cleaning team:
- Toss any trash into the bear box outside (recycling goes in the blue can)
- Run the dishwasher if it's full of dirty dishes
- Leave used towels in a pile in the bathroom
- No need to strip the beds. We'll take care of that
- Empty the fridge of perishables you won't take with you
- Turn the thermostat down to 60°F (winter) or off (summer)
- Close all windows and lock the front door behind you
That's it. Leave the rest to us. Safe travels home!
Before you head home...
We hope the A-Frame treated you well. If you'd like us to let you know when your weekend opens up next year (or when something unexpected frees up sooner), leave your info below. We'll reach out personally, not with a marketing blast.
And if you had a great stay, the best thing you can do for us (besides coming back) is tell a friend. We're a small operation and word of mouth means everything.
